Susan Shamash

Rabbi Susan Shamash embraces contemporary egalitarian Judaism as a profound spiritual practice, reaching beyond religious boundaries and institutional structures. She serves interfaith families and unaffiliated Jews in metropolitan Vancouver, BC. Susan had a long and fulfilling administrative law judge career. When she retired in early 2010, she immediately pursued her calling as a rabbi and was ordained by ALEPH in January 2017. As an active member of Or Shalom synagogue, she leads services, reads Torah, and teaches Talmud. She lives in Vancouver with her husband, Yom, and dog, Dulce.
