Limmud Seattle 2019

What do you truly want to say to your family and/or your community? An ethical will allows you to communicate just that. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity for a hands-on writing experience through a reflection of their own morals, values, and hopes for the future. We will first briefly review the history of ethical wills, beginning with Bereishit 49, Jacob’s legacy speech to his sons; Devorim, Moses’s discourse to the children of Israel; working through the Talmud, and ending with modern examples. Through examining modern wills and considering "think about" prompts, participants will be creating their very own ethical wills.
